Kratma Saini Sood is an urban designer and architect with over 17 years of experience leading a wide variety of complex projects around the globe. Kratma has worked on projects in USA, China, India and Dubai utilizing her multi-disciplinary experience in the realization of urban design, planning and architecture with a focus on innovative approaches to public space and urban issues. During her career she has worked on projects including campus master plans, revitalization for city public places and historic sites as well as award winning buildings. She received her B.Arch with a gold medal for her thesis from CCA, Panjab University and then went on to receive her MS of Architecture and Urban Design from GSAPP Columbia University, graduating with the Kinne Fellowship and the Urban Technical Assistance Award for her work in the neighborhoods of Harlem to assist efforts toward revitalization. Prior to founding KS Atelier LLC, she worked with Pritzker winner B.V.Doshi in Ahmedabad, India. In her 9 years at Davis Brody Bond in New York she worked on several prestigious and award winning NY projects including the 9/11 Memorial Museum. Her firm's portfolio of projects range from urban design, architecture, workplace design to interior design & project management.

Throughout her career she has been passionate about sustainability and is a LEED accredited professional. Kratma has a long standing commitment to sustainable design as well as advancing and empowering women issues. She also serves on the Board of Advisors for Asia Initiatives, a non-profit organization with a mission to help under-served communities through empowering women. As a New York resident, Kratma is an involved community member and is a vocal advocate for accessible green spaces in the neighborhood and for increased community initiatives.
